Born from the drought of human created content.
For years Jem has worked in technology and business, even though she was formally trained in the arts. Her fast-paced work life led her to have very little time for herself, let alone time to sit back and just have some time to let her creative side flow. Not having extensive time or mental space at the end of her day to let her passion for arts take long adventures, colouring books were her reliable relief for some fun, self-expression, and rewarding time. Unfortunately, many colouring books ended up being lack-luster. Hoping for inspiration when opening the books at the end of a day, she closed them shortly after, finding the pages drab and repetitive.
After a decade of dedicating her time to her work, the stress compiled until the burnout was too much to keep continuing year after year on the same path.
With bittersweet goodbye to her former work, she took a turn back to her natural and trained talents to recenter herself. Her books are made in an attempt to recenter and revitalize the playful, individual, artist within. She hopes to equally inspire others to also take time for re-centering themselves through colourful expression and fun.
